General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

Using the DYNDNS service for a server with a dynamic IP how do I keep the original URL that users type into their browser for my domain name? If a user types in my domain name, lets say "http://www.mydomainname.com" it then changes to my account URL here, I want it to stay the same.

I looked at editing my host account but I don't think Webhop and Cloaking will work because I do not see my current IP address in that setup.

Thank you

1 Answer:

So you're saying that you have a domain name hosted elsewhere (not with DynDNS), and you have configured it so that users are redirected to your DynDNS (Free) hostname?

Depending on your current DNS provider, you could create a CNAME record to point to your DynDNS hostname, instead of using HTTP redirections. But the ideal solution might be to simply move the DNS hosting to DynDNS Custom?
