Thanks for looking. We have paid for a custom DNS Hosting - http://data.domain.com - I'm trying to set it up on my domain provider's side (we still want http://www.domain.com, etc, to be hosted by the original domain provider). Our provider has a 'tool' to update Custom DNS Records. It asks the following: Subdomains (subdomain.domain.com) can be routed to IP addresses or domain names. http://data.domain.com Points To: [ ]IP/Domain/Alias I tried placing http://ns1.mydyndns.org, http://ns2.mydyndns.org, but that didn't work. I spoke with tech support: "Unfortunately, it is not possible to update the subdomain records on our servers without entering the host or IP address." Is this possible? Am I missing something? Thank you |

Since you've chosen to provide a domain owned by somebody else as your example and tell us nothing about who your hoster is, you've made it very difficult to help you. I'm guessing that their tool is designed to update records with IP addresses, so that they'd update your Sure - our host is http://ipower.com. I've added two records; http://data.domain.com -> 204.13.248.76 http://data.domain.com -> 204.13.249.76 However, when I go to dyndns delegation it says: http://ns1.ipower.com., http://ns2.ipower.com It also says that: Custom DNS Nameservers Server IP Address http://ns1.mydyndns.org (Required) 204.13.248.76 http://ns2.mydyndns.org (Required) 204.13.249.76 When I ping http://data.domain.com I get 204.13.248.76 back.

Be aware that comments are just that, comments. They don't have reliable notification so if you use it to add information then we may never know you posted and you may never receive a reply. Edit your question to add the further information, or add an "answer". And your domain is? As I've already said, if you chose to provide false information you're making it difficult to help you. Are you trying to leave the DNS for your entire domain, except the |

If you do not want to post your domain on here, please e-mail support@dyndns.com and we will be glad to assist you. Without being able to do DNS queries on your domain, it is very hard to guess what is going on. |
