Take a look at this guide on http://Portforward.com which will walk you through the port forwarding process. You may also want to review the overall process.

You'll also want to make sure your ISP isn't blocking port 80, the default for HTTP traffic. If they are, you can set up a WebHop to run your server on an alternate port, which means you'd need to forward that alternate port instead of 80.

After having registered with DynDNS, and having installed and configured a webserver on that computer, you need to set up port forwarding on the WRT54G (in case the emulator asks for user/PW, enter admin/admin). This forwarding had to go to the (internal) IP address of your computer running the webserver. Default for webservers would be TCP port 80, but your ISP may block this, so you can use any other port, e.g. tcp/8080. Also, you may need to configure your computer to use a static internal IP address outside the DHCP range of your router. It doesn't really matter if your computer is connected to the WRT54G via cable or wireless.

You call your webserver (from outside) then with http://yourname.dyndns.org/ or, in case you have used port 8080, with http://yourname.dyndns.org:8080/ . Please note that some webserver applications require to allow to be called by a certain domain name, in this case http://yourname.dyndns.org. Also, in case you use a different port from 80, you certainly must tell this your webserver to listen there. Refer to the documentation of your webserver program then.

Also, do not forget to run an Updater to keep your dynamic IP address current for your DynDNS hostname. However, the WRT54G supports DDNS updates, so you probably would use this.

Edit: Ha, the other users were quicker than me, so I may have duplicated some points.

Load DD-WRT on your WRT54G and then you can setup both port forwarding and dyndns updates.

Once loaded, go to the NAT/QOS --> Port Forwarding page and enter the ports you want forwarded and the internal IP you want to forward to.

Simple, easy, and it works all the time.

While technically valid, not everybody wants to risk their device flashing custom firmware. Also, please watch the advertising.
