I set up the address of therouter connected to my DVR in DYNDNS. Also set-up portforwarding in router. Initially I am able to connect to DVR from multiple locations. After approx 1 day I can no longer connect. When I go back into dyndns it shows me the ip address is the portforwarded address (LAN side ie 192.168.1.100) instead of a the WAN address I initially enetered. Any ideas? |

Sure, you must run an Update Client to keep your changing IP address information updated at DynDNS. Your router or your DVR may have a built-in Update Client, or you can use a software client. In case you already run an Update Client, it seems to do a bad job when using your internal IP address. What Update Client would this be? Do you have a modem separate from a router? You may need to put the modem in bridge mode then. See this guide and this thread and this and even more for more related info. |
