The answer can be quickly summarized as:

  • Yes, it is possible to configure both computers to be available via RDP. This involves using an alternate port for computer number two.
  • It may not be possible to reach the second computer from your work, depending on the firewall rules on your employer's network.

To make the second computer's RDP service available to the Internet, you will need to use an alternate port number on it. See here for a related answer (although not specific to RDP).

Basically: Either your router supports forwarding an external port to a different internal port (such as forwarding port 3390 to a local device on port 3389), or you will need to change the listening port for RDP on your second computer. For instructions on how to change the RDP listening port on Windows XP, see this Microsoft KB article.

Note that many corporate networks have strict firewall rules. They only accept outgoing traffic on "known" ports. HTTP and HTTPS (port 80/443) are the most common, but many businesses also allow FTP and RDP, and sometimes POP3/IMAP/SMTP. You could ask, or you could simply set it up and test whether it works or not. The reason I am emphasizing this, is that if it doesn't work from your workplace, that doesn't mean there is anything wrong on your end. You should test it from for example a friend's network first, or somewhere where you know there aren't restrictions on outbound network ports.
