General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

Hi, quite new to this so any help would be appreciated

I've setup the dvr unit and configured the router correctly (I Believe) and I can access and see the camera's on any workstation or laptop on my LAN by simply entering the DVR's local IP address in Internet explorer.

I believe I've set up DynDNS correctly and to some extent I think its working as it should, in that, when i try and access the dvr via the internet I get access to the User Login screen displayed as I would on my local LAN.

Unfortunately when I enter the password it simply re-displays the User Login screen and displays briefly the following message

The tab has been recovered A problem with this webpage caused IE to close and reopen the tab

Does anyone have any idea's of where I'm going wrong

Many thanks

Colin

I have found that the majority of DVR's use port 37777 and port 80. Setting up Port 80 allows you to get past the login screen and port 37777 is set within the network fields on the dvr, usually the same screen as the ip address, gateway etc.

I am new to this and not sure if I am allowed to say this, but have you checked with port http://forward.com. They have just about every router under the sun listed and detailed instructions for each one as well.

You are allowed to say this, as http://portforward.com work together with DynDNS: http://portforward.com/dyndns/ :-)

Do not respond with a comment. This has no reliable notification.

Don't be desperate, you're nearly there. The ideas which come into my mind:
What is this password you use, is it a Windows account's password, or just a password stored in the DVR? Does it have special characters not eligible for HTTP transmission?
Also, it may be worth to study the manual of your DVR again to ensure you didn't miss anything like a missing port to be used in addition or something like that, e.g. it could be that the DVR also needs to be configured to accept connections from outside.

Hi I had the same problem with 2 different company dvrs a samsung dvr and an openeye !

I created a host name and when i tried accessing it remotely it didnt go through so i used the direct wan address and it worked then i created a few new different dyndns names and some worked and some of them didnt work

P.S. I was able to log in all along to the router and able to ping the host name but for some reason i couldnt access the video stream off some of the dyndns host names

"Weird"!!!!!!!

I no exactly what your problem is,you need to open your media port USUALLY ITS THE 9000 Port.forward YOUR 9000 in your router along with your web port whatever that may be typically 80 along with your mobile port and you should be good.
