I have setup port forwarding on my router/modem (Netopia) using PC Config and port checker states the ports assigned my DVR's are open. I have used http://Dyndns.com to establish a hostname and paid $15.00. I have a http://dyndns.com username and password. I also have Dyndns Updater running. Now I do not understand how or what I must do to connect to my DVR's remotely over the internet from another computer not on my LAN. I can connect to my DVR's from all the computers on my LAN. What do I type in the Address Bar of Internet Explorer? What format (ie. http://www.yourmove.dyndns.org) do I use to type, if any, into the Address Bar? I am at a lost here. I need help. Thanks |

Work through this guide, which will get you started. If you have problems edit your question to include the step you've reached, what the error message is and what the hostname and port you're using are. What you type into the address bar will depend on your DVR and what ports you forward, but in general if you use |

dump the netopia and get a linksys. have had problems with them before. also, you need to have port range forwarding setup for the ports the dvr uses. not all web based viewing works since IE has updated so many times. try using the remote client first then go from there. |
