All I want is all traffic for my domain pointed towards my server and let the server do the work. Currently I am using the free domain name service and it works fine with my virtual hosts, apache, ftp, mail and I imagine anything else I decide to add to my server. All the domain names are kept updated fine using ddclient. Is it really necessary for me to purchase custom? |

If you intend to use your own custom domain name, then yes, you would need DNS hosting for the domain, which is what DynDNS Custom is. You could still use ddclient to update hostnames within your DynDNS Custom zone. |
