Did you both "Select Enabled to use the Router as an FTP server" and "Select Enabled to allow access of the FTP server from the Internet" as described on page 30 of your router's manual? Follow also the other instructions listed there.

Also, in case your ISP blocks port 21, you need to change the port number and specifying this when calling your NAS from inside and outside.

To make it clear: from the manual you can use your router/NAS from outside only as FTP server, not as Windows file server. At least I couldn't find any indication for being able doing this.

Is it a stand-alone storage system (a NAS, like "MyBook World Edition"), a standard external hard drive connected to a computer via USB/Firewire/eSATA or are you connecting the disk (via USB) directly to the router (if the router supports acting as a file server)?

For a general step-by-step guide on how to get started, please see this community wiki entry.

the router have a DynDns suite and NAT config, uPnP, native, the disk is connect directly to the router, the router supports acting like a file server, for this reason i buy this one. but i cant access outside my home network, at home works fine. i think that maybe a config issue, probably i loosing something.
