Hi Folks, I have a domain where the DNS records are not with the registration service, but moved to a web host. so I can't access the MX records to set up Google Apps e-mail for the domain. Is there a DynDNS product that can help, and how would I go about configuring it? Many thanks in advance. Vic |

You would need a DNS hosting service for your domain, where you have full access to all records and even more. This is the case with DynDNS Custom. Follow the links on that page for detailed descriptions and instructions. In case you want to stay with your web hosting provider, ensure that he is able and willing to deal with a 3rd party DNS hosting service, i.e. that your DNS records can point to your website at this web hosting service. Many thanks for this. I'll start by talking with my web hosting provider and see what he/she has to say...

Vic, I apologise for slightly hijacking your thread, but you have a bit more experience with GoogleApps than I do :-) I'm pretty new to DNS and as my username implies I'm a complete novice. But I've got an ISP who has signed-up their domain to GoogleApps. Is it actually possible to have your own domain fully integrated with their gmail mail service under these circumstances. Here's an extract from my post above, "I forgot to mention that my ISP's domain is a signed-up GoogleApps domain, and I have to use their gmail web service and pop/smtp SSL server connections in my email client. My ISP's implementation does not seem to allow the use of an alternative smtp server the way http://gmail.com does." Please, ask your own question - don't hijack somebody else's.
