General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

Hi all

I've created a new account %HOSTNAME%.dyndns.org. I am unable to resolve an IP to the name.
IE: pingging %HOSTNAME%.dyndns.org, it fails to resolve an IP address. The account was created approx 18 hrs ago. This is on a free account.

No idea what went wrong. Just delete that first hostname and add it again to see if it becomes better.

What do you see if you visit your hostname page?
Also, ping is not the right tool to troubleshoot DNS. You want to use nslookup, dig, or host, depending on your OS.

Hi

Everything on the hostname page. Last updated yesterday when I created the account. NSLookup shows %HOSTNAME%.dyndns.org: Non-existent domain.
I have added a 2nd hostname to that account and it appears the second one is working. The first isn't.

i have the same problem as you. you can download client update if it's for your computer. this will keep your ip addressess married up. if you need it for your phone to your router, good luck, i have been looking my-self. i think the only solution is to get a static line.
