I have a registed domain name through GoDaddy and am wanting to use DynDNS as a DNS for my dynamic IP address. I have the server already configured to having a static IP address but my ISP is currently dynamic, hence the reason for use of this service. The problem I'm running into is that I'm trying to route my registered domain name through this service and don't know what to enter for the nameserver, as when I enter the hostname I registered GoDaddy tells me it is an unregistered nameserver. Thanks for any advice. |

If you want to use DynDNS' nameservers for your domain or a subdomain, you had to purchase DynDNS Custom as DNS hosting service for your (sub)domain, else you can still configure a WebHop redirect or a CNAME at GoDaddy's DNS pointing to your DynDNS hostname. |

Ok, so I purchased a domain name, "internetenabled.net" and I want it to point to the same place as my http://homenet2.dyndns.org:23456 host. I have purchased custom DNS, so now how do I get it to A) point towards the dyndns updater that's been keeping my homenet2 running forever and B) do the port translation/smoke and mirrors so users don't have to put the port number to access the server? By the way, thanks a ton. This is my first foray into internetworking aside from using dyndns 'host' for a while now to access my home NAS, so I have pretty much zero knowledge of how to use the other services provided.
