General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

Good morning I have installed the dyndns client on the PC, but i see the service updater stop and start automatically without my intervention in a completely automatic manner, is that normal? Thanks

This would probably be better taken to the discussion forums since this will almost certainly need a threaded conversation, which this forum doesn't support (it's for simple questions and answers).

That depends on what you mean by stop and start automatically. Are you looking at the event log - what else happens at those times? Are you referring to the updater's own log of updates (in which case that's normal)?

The most common installation of the Update Client is a Windows Service. This means that each time your computer turns on or you log in, the Update Client will start and make sure your DDNS hostname is correctly updated. This entirely happens in the background.

If you're seeing log messages or something appears on the screen that makes you think it is behaving abnormally, can you please either post here or email into our customer support at support@dyndns.com with the information?
