General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

I have two domains that I've successfully transferred to DynDNS and setup CustomDNS on both domains. My problem now is that my router is only capable of updating a single host. (As far as I know). I wasn't able to find anything in the documentation about using multiple hosts. Router is Trendnet TEW-633GR.

Do I have to install a client on a computer within my network to update one of the hosts?

1 Answer:

Two choices

  1. Use a single host and create the other as a CNAME. This won't work if you need to use the other as an MX (for receiving email).
  2. Install an update client

There is a third option, using one of the services like DNS-O-Matic. However you're handing them the username and password for your domain. You have to decide whether the risk (which appears to be minor - I've never heard of problems) is worth it.
