Greetings, I just purchased 2 IP Cameras that I would like to access from my office. Can someone guide me through the process? I just setup a free dyndns account until I get the hang of what I am doing.Although the cameras are wireless, right now they are connected directly to my router, a Cisco/Linksys E3000. Any & all help will be appreciated. Thanks Craig |

Hello Craig. I have a cisco/linksys E1000 router. I have been trying to get my laptop, connected wirelessly, to access my camera program. This is what i did to finally get it to work. 1) i contacted cisco and they walked my through the portforwarding. It was very simple. I'm running cisco connect software to configure my router. I clicked on advanced to get to the router page and went to applications and gaming tab then single portforwarding and inputed the port info. Internal and external port info. you may want to contact the camera manufactor for the info. Also you may want to play around with the DDNS tab on the setup page. It's a direct connection to DYNDNS. 2) i contacted the modem manufactor and they walked me through performing a bridge. The modem has firewalls in it. When you bridge you will be giving your devices free access to the web. 3) Since i'm running on a laptop. I had to configure my firewall program to allow comunication through the programs required ports. I just got the thing to work. I'm still trying to figure out if i'm bypassing DYNDNS or if it is because of the service that i got it to work. Still a work in progress. I was able to get to it by inputing my internet ip address:port. Hope this helps you. |
