Hi there Formerly, my intention was to host my Joomla website on my own server, because I needed to be able to create a subdomain which pointed to a CherryPy web application that responds on :8080 port. That app would be served by Apache through a Virtual Host. For that reason, I have contracted a CUSTOM DNS which redirects the domain to my host. The application works perfectly by now. I haven't published the J! website yet. The question is: Would it be possible to upload the Joomla website http://www.example.com to my shared hosting (which is also the registrar of the domain), and create with DynDNS a subdomain http://www.demo.example.com that redirects to my own server? This way, the "remote" shared hosting would host only the main Joomla website, and my own server would serve the subdomain "demo" with the CherryPy application. Can this be done through A registers or any other means? Thanks in advance. |
