Hi, i have a dyndns domain which i can only access on afternoons : http://rdtapo.dyndns.org i tried to ping it without response on mornings and suddently after 12:30 it works. i also tried to ping http://dyndns.org or http://www.dyndns.org and it doesn't respond too. I live in French polynesia so it is GMT-10h here, do you know if it is a dyndns problem or FAI or my account ? thank you |

Hi there, yes i was trying to connect from home but i finally solved it. I forgot to open incoming traffic on my router using dyndns account, now i can connect to the pc behind the gateway. Thanks for your help ! bye |

It is normal for hosts not to respond to a ping - you shouldn't use ping for performing diagnostics unless you know the device is configured to respond to ping requests. For testing you should only use the service you're trying to access. If it works on a schedule then it may be your ISP, or a problem with where you're testing it from. Are you testing it from another home user connection? |

Hi Cry, thanks for your reply. yes i try to acess from home to the office network. i normally can connect to the servers with PCanywhere, using dyndns. I have a DSL router linked to a security gateway, and then the entire network with servers. The router is setup to use Dyndns domain name, but i see i can use it also in my gateway configuration. What is the best hardware to use with Dyndns in my case ? But now since 3 days it doesn't work at all and i don't know why... thanks |

If it doesn't work then it may be because of a change at your work. Before doing anything else you must do your testing from another person's home Internet connection. Until you do that we can't rule out blocking by your work as the source of your problems. |
