I'm trying to set up my OS X Server (Snow Leopard). My ISP is Verizon FiOS. I have an Airport Extreme router.

I've got the Airport Extreme updating Custom DNS correctly-- thanks to these excellent instructions

What do I enter for the Network Names? The default values shown by the OS X Server setup wizard are:

Primary DNS Name: http://pool-101-23-212-240.lsanca.fios.verizon.net

Computer Name: pool-101-23-212-240

but that can't be right.

What should I use for "Primary DNS Name" and "Computer Name" ?

Thanks.

1 Answer:

Primary DNS name is your full hostname that you're updating in Custom DNS - for example myhost.example.com. The Computer name is the first part - myhost.
