Everything is working correctly with my network. Ports are forewarded correctly. I can access my DVR box no problem if I type in the IP address. The problem I am having is when my ip address changes, it's not updating with the DDNS service. I can even manually update the ip address on DYNDNS and it works until the next time my IP address changes. Its a brand new DVR box, so I'm pretty sure there are no problems with the box. I think the problem is with the settings I'm entering into the DDNS service. The username and password are entered correctly. Can someone please verify that the rest of the settings are correct, if so give me an idea on what else the problem may be. |

You also have to enter the hostname that needs updated. It may be that the DVR's update client doesn't work correctly, many don't. If it doesn't even when given all the required information then you'll need to try another device that's always switched on (such as your router) or a software client. You also have to enter the hostname that needs updated. In this case that will probably the Device Alias field. Also, if the "Alive interval" is for forced refreshes your account will quickly be blocked for abusive updates. Even at it's maximum you run the risk of being blocked for abusive updates. You may need to use a different device or a software client.
Unfortunately without a link to a PDF copy of the manual I can't tell if it's possible or how to do it. A Google search suggests that the 2Wire products don't have a DynDNS update client.
Yes There is no computer connected to the network to use a software update client. How do I setup the router to do it? The router is a 2wire 1000hw
