General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

I enabled DDNS in my Linksys E2000 router and got everything working fine with DynDNS, but I was a little short on much needed information which apparently only Linksys Support could provide. I needed to know if & when this router performed automatic DDNS update to http://DynDNS.org, and whether or not a changed IP effected if this update would occur. Linksys confirmed this router automatically updates DDNS every 90 minutes regardless of IP status. Now I know for sure that an update is (or should be) performed on a regular basis and I don't have to worry about my free service expiring, but I guess this presents a new issue: abusive updates (thanks Cry Havok).

You do however have to worry about your account being blocked due to abusive updates, which should happen shortly if it hasn't already.

I've added it to the list of broken clients linking to this thread.

Thanks for the quick response letting me know that abusive updates is a problem. So my solution became to disable DDNS on my router and install DynDNS's auto update client. It seems to work great so I'm all set.
