I reinstall my PC under XP SP3 and update "Dyndns updater" to last release 4.1.5 but Blue (i) stay on status welcome (do not switch to green) and my IP is not updated. It was working perfectly before with an older version (I do not remember which version) DynDNS Updater v4.1.5 User agent: DynDNS-Client-Win32/4.1.5 Windows version: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Running as: Service File1:

Did you configure the updater with your username, password and (full) hostname? What does it's logs say? EDIT: Try this thread on the other forum, particularly this thread. Causes seem to include incorrect date/time (which doesn't look to be your problem), the HTTP-SSL service being disabled or firewall/proxy issues. Do you normally need to configure a proxy to browse the web? I configured with user name and password and hostname is retrieved automatically from my account, i checked it and apply but no IPupdate. logs says 02-08-2010 18:03:48 - Setting DNS servers for Intel(R) PRO/1000 PL Network Connection - Packet Scheduler Miniport. 02-08-2010 18:03:48 - Previous servers: 192.168.1.1 02-08-2010 18:05:38 - Updater: Service started. 02-08-2010 18:38:36 - Updater: Service stopped.

Try if you can connect to the following sites and ports: |

I use Dyndns to remote access my PC through RealVnc -Run Realvnc with my IP is working -if I update my Ip manually I can connect to MyHostId but - Dyndns updater do no update my IP About the Telnet request, how do I connect telnet http://members.dyndns.org 80 under XP??? DOS command says telnet http://members.dyndns.org 80 HTTP/1.1 200 OK Content-Type: text/html Server: DynDNS-CheckIP/1.0 Connection: close Cache-Control: no-cache Pragma: no-cache Content-Length: 104 Current IP CheckCurrent IP Address: 90.3 2.205.56 Is it what you mean by results Yes, this looks excellent. It is just a test that you can connect to http://members.dyndns.org on port 80. Try also port 443, this is probably where the actual updates take place.

I execute dos command telnet http://checkip.dyndns.org 80 telnet http://checkip.dyndns.org 8245 results are OK but telnet http://members.dyndns.org 80 telnet http://members.dyndns.org 443 telnet http://members.dyndns.org 8245 gives no results, I must say that I am not really aware about telnet. Could you tell me more how to perform telnet under windows XP?

Enter "telnet -?" to see a short syntax description. For more see e.g. http://www.computerhope.com/telnethl.htm or http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/telnet_commands.mspx

"telnet http://members.dyndns.org 80 telnet http://members.dyndns.org 443 telnet http://members.dyndns.org 8245 gives no results" - That's bad, then you can't perform updates at all. You need to find out what is blocking you to reach this site on ports 80, 443 and 8245.

I am having the same problem on Windows 7 64-bit. The indicator graphic stays blue and says "Welcome". My correct IP address and host names are shown, and the service is started, but it NEVER performs an update no matter what I do. I even tried disabling the Windows Firewall entirely but it had no effect. |
