Originator has not returned to the thread in over a month. Closing to stop the forum bot bumping this pointlessly.

Did you configure the updater with your username, password and (full) hostname?

What does it's logs say?

EDIT: Try this thread on the other forum, particularly this thread. Causes seem to include incorrect date/time (which doesn't look to be your problem), the HTTP-SSL service being disabled or firewall/proxy issues. Do you normally need to configure a proxy to browse the web?

Try if you can connect to the following sites and ports:
telnet http://checkip.dyndns.org 80
telnet http://checkip.dyndns.org 8245
telnet http://members.dyndns.org 80
telnet http://members.dyndns.org 443
telnet http://members.dyndns.org 8245
and tell us the results.

About the Telnet request, how do I connect telnet http://members.dyndns.org 80 under XP???

DOS command says telnet http://members.dyndns.org 80

HTTP/1.1 200 OK Content-Type: text/html Server: DynDNS-CheckIP/1.0 Connection: close Cache-Control: no-cache Pragma: no-cache Content-Length: 104

Current IP CheckCurrent IP Address: 90.3 2.205.56

Yes, this looks excellent. It is just a test that you can connect to http://members.dyndns.org on port 80. Try also port 443, this is probably where the actual updates take place.

I execute dos command telnet http://checkip.dyndns.org 80 telnet http://checkip.dyndns.org 8245 results are OK

but telnet http://members.dyndns.org 80 telnet http://members.dyndns.org 443 telnet http://members.dyndns.org 8245

gives no results, I must say that I am not really aware about telnet. Could you tell me more how to perform telnet under windows XP?

"telnet http://members.dyndns.org 80 telnet http://members.dyndns.org 443 telnet http://members.dyndns.org 8245 gives no results" - That's bad, then you can't perform updates at all. You need to find out what is blocking you to reach this site on ports 80, 443 and 8245.

I am having the same problem on Windows 7 64-bit. The indicator graphic stays blue and says "Welcome". My correct IP address and host names are shown, and the service is started, but it NEVER performs an update no matter what I do. I even tried disabling the Windows Firewall entirely but it had no effect.
