Hi I am using a standalone DVR and ADSL modem+router ZXDSL 831CII.

Settings on my DVR are : DVR IP : 192.168.1.5 DVR Port : 6802 DDNS : http://www.dvrserver.net ( this is default setting )

On my router i add into DMZ page the IP : 192.168.1.5

Each time I try my DYNDNS id ( http://gasolina.dyndns.info ) I get the admin screen of my router, and not the DVR .

Please advise what am I doing wrong ? How can I get DVR screen, and not the modem setup screen ?

Thanks

You'll need to forward port 80/TCP to the DVR. If you've already done that you either need to change the admin port of your router or forward a different port to the DVR. This guide has more details, but if you need further help please edit your question to let us know where you're stuck.

the port 80 is being used by another computer on LAN 192.168.1.2 should i change the 80 port to my DVR ( 192.168.1.5 ) ? and then should I also change the IE port in the menu of DVR from 8080 to 80

I see from your other comment:

Hi Almel, a. At time i use http://gasolina.dyndns.info:6802 nothing happens on the IE page. b. I have input the dyndns information in the router. Any other checks or suggestions ?

that you are already using another port than port 80. I assume when you say you are seeing your router's admin page then it only happens when you do not specify the port on connecting and are connecting from inside the network? I say that because neither port 80 or port 6802 show as being open when I try your hostname.

If you are using a port other than port 80 then you should just have to configure port forwarding (see here) and test from outside your network.

There are few possible causes...

  • I suppose you are accessing DVR's web server through web-browser (usually IE) and that your DVR's HTTP port is 6802. In this case address entered in IE address line should be http://gasolina.dyndns.info:6802 (including http://).

  • some routers don't allow access to the server from LAN networked computer using DDNS address, but only from WAN , ie. remote location via Internet

  • which device is updating IP address? I'm not familiar with http://dvrserver.net DDNS service, but it looks like DVR manufacturer's service. If you want to use http://dyndns.info domain let your ADSL router do the job (I haven't seen a router without dyndns support), otherwise follow DVR manual.

i have one you can try this 1. change your dmz setting to default ip modem adsl you can see in local area net work status- support tab default gateway 192.xxx.xx.xx 2. Go to Port Forwarding in your adsl usually in same place with dmz, insert u ip dvr 192.168.1.5 port 6802 and the name accept to u ex "cctv" and save setting. 3. try to call u dvr from local area network ex 192.168.1.5:6802 .after that in general setting on your dvr find the DDNS setting enable it and you put your user name and password and DNS id 4. after that try to download the new DNS up dater u can find in http://DNS.com 5. Install the software and try to update u DNS. 6. and put http://gasolina.dyndns.info:6802 i hope is working and if dont you can contact me
